2004
MARRIED THE LOVE OF MY LIFE
My wife and I escaped to Dillon, SC, to get married. Less than one year later – my oldest son was born. She has been my guiding light through life. My subjective proof is that relationships should be fostered and grown from an early age.
2005 - 2006
Launched My first Successful Business
Green Light Lawn Maintenance. “Give Us The Go To Mow.” Received my first online clients from Google Search and learned the power of the internet (it brought us together now)
2009 - 2010
Seeking Adventure I Join The Army as An Infantry Paratrooper
Well, I found it at Fort Benning and later in Afghanistan, Iraq & Syria! Completed One Station Unit Training and Airborne School – Mount Warfare, and Cave Warfare at Ft. Knox.
2011 - 2012
Infantry Machine Gun Team leader
I became an Infantry Machine Gun Team leader and led my first Soldiers in combat. Owning the mistakes of others for the first time in life-or-death situations.
2013 - 2014
Infantry Squad Leader
Learning to counsel and lead from an empathetic approach. The first real pain of Leadership came from consoling survivors and mentoring young leaders through decisive life-or-death decisons.
2015 - 2016
Battalion Combatives Team
With a break between deployments, I Coached the Battalion combative team with 3 weigh class victories, including my own – leading by example. Attended and completed the Infantry Advanced Leaders Course (ALC).
2017-2018
3 Day Notice
I was an Airborne Anti-Tank Heavy Weapons Platoon Leader (lots of equipment, inventory was a nightmare) getting ready to move to Alaska; my platoon was hit with a 3-day Quick Reaction Force notice on a Tuesday and landed in Iraq on a Friday for the Re-taking of Mosul. I deployed and redeployed an Airborne Heavy Weapons Platoon to Iraq and then Syria.
My wife was the foundation of support for my family. I came home and immediately resumed moving to Alaska from North Carolina.
2018 -2020
NCO Academy
I returned to Orders reassigning me to the Alaska Noncommissioned Officers Academy to Instruct in a high-trust teaching position. I attended several more educational courses, including the Common Faculty Development Instructors Course (CFDIC). I earned the Army Instructor badge and won NCO of The Quarter while guiding 100s of Soldiers through the Academy and further (even still mentoring several* check my socials).
2020-2022
Senior Leader - Early Retirement
promoted to Senior Small Group leader, where I continued creating standard operating procedures (SOPs) and coaching several of my Soldiers to become Senior Leaders themselves, including one to win the coveted Audie Murphy Award (which I tried twice and was denied entry).
I will never take away from the success of my students and peers, but a leader’s success is defined by the success of those they lead.
2022- Present
FULL TIME COLLEGE ALASKA PACIFIC
I am attending college full time at Alaska Pacific University pursuing my OS in Adventure Therapy and set to graduate in the spring of 2024. My follow on Masters of the Arts (Self-guided) will be the first Masters of the Arts in Jiu-Jitsu – one of my lifelong passions that has been a major pillar to my physical and mental health. I am currently a competitive Brown belt in Jiu-Jitsu and retired MMA fighter training out of Legacy Jiu-Jitsu in Anchorage, Alaska. My master’s degree will pave the way forward for Jiu-Jitsu as an industry. I have been married for almost 20 years and have two exceptional children, a flawless wife, and love to share the joys of life!
